Practice Policy
We endeavour as a practice to provide the best possible and
most suitable care for your pet and yourself. We continually
strive to provide the very best healthcare facilities.
House calls
House calls may be provided on request. But, as with any visit
from the veterinary surgery, not all facilities are available
and the animal may have to be brought to the surgery for further
investigations to gain a valid diagnosis.
House visits are frequently more time consuming and difficult
to carry out than normal. This is reflected in the cost.
Please ring as early as possible if you require a home visit.
Repeat prescriptions
The regulations that govern medicines for animals are similar
to those for humans and therefore most medicines can only
be dispensed after a clinical examination. Animals with chronic
conditions that require long periods of treatment need to
be seen on a regular basis. This is usually at least once
every 6 months, but can be more frequent depending on the
condition. This is to check that the medication is working
satisfactorily. In certain cases, repeat prescriptions can
be given, this is with the consent of the supervising veterinary
surgeon. We request that a minimum of 24 hours notice is given.
We can only give prescriptions to animals under our care.
Fees & Costs
We offer a 24 hour, 365 day a year service which is paid from
the fees that we charge you. To keep up with the latest techniques
and developments in animal care and continue to develop our
services and skills, we have to charge a realistic fee for
the services we carry out. To help you pay these fees we will
accept payment by a number of debit and credit cards, or by
cash, or by cheque with a valid bankers card. If you have
any problems with payment of our fees, please speak to one
of the veterinary surgeons prior to treatment and we will
help all we can.
